But seriously. I’m putting the finishing touches on TRUST AND BETRAYAL: The Life of Levit Fernandini. It’s a true crime novel about a drug dealer in the Bronx who was given a life sentence. I learned a lot from this story and think you will enjoy it.
One day, perhaps I will write a love story.
I’m also in the planning stage for the 8th VIC GONNELLA book.. but this time, there will be no murders. It will be about an event that touches the lives of Vic and Raquel and may include AI in the plot.
I need to stage the characters, do my usual 20-chapter outline, and then rely on the characters to fill in the dialogue as they always have and take off from there. The usual characters are real to me and are always alive in every book.
I’ll be in Montauk for part of the summer, where I do my best writing. I guess it's the salt water and sun that inspire me. Plus, I create in the kitchen, where I am determined to keep losing in spite of the great food.
Why no murders? Although murders have been done in all seven of the VIC GONNELLA SERIES, and although some of my fans may come to expect blood and gore, I want to create a different plot that still keeps revenge as part of the theme. Let’s see how it goes.
I generally don’t read novels while writing, so I’m looking for something to read. For some reason, I download political books to my Kindle but never get past chapter 4 because I’m sick and tired of the political drivel in the USA today. It’s to the point that I cannot stand to watch the news anymore.
I keep thinking about my dad and all the men I knew who were in World War II and how they would react to today’s world events. Knowing that they were 19 and 20 years old when they went to a brutal war and watching our young men today and how they behave is disheartening, to say the very least.
